St. Paschal Baylon
Spanish Franciscan lay brother (1540-1592), Aragonese shepherd-boy who entered the Alcantarine reform of the Discalced Franciscans; renowned for ecstatic devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Patron of all Eucharistic congresses and confraternities (declared by Leo XIII, 1897). Canonized 1690 by Alexander VIII.
