St. Pamphilus of Caesarea
Greek priest, scholar, and martyr (c. 240-309), of Beirut, formed at Origen's school of Alexandria; built up the great Christian library of Caesarea (later used by Eusebius and Jerome) and produced biblical and patristic texts. Imprisoned for two years in the Diocletian persecution and beheaded at Caesarea. Pre-Congregation.
