St. Oliver Plunkett
Irish archbishop and martyr (1625-1681), of Loughcrew in County Meath, Archbishop of Armagh from 1669; arrested during the Titus Oates "Popish Plot" hysteria, tried in London on perjured evidence after a fair trial in Ireland could not be secured, and hanged, drawn, and quartered at Tyburn. Last Catholic to be martyred at Tyburn. Canonized 1975 by Paul VI; the first Irish saint canonized since the Reformation.
