St. Olga of Kiev
Regent of Kievan Rus and grandmother of St. Vladimir the Great. Baptized in Constantinople around 957, she is honored as the first of the Rus' rulers to embrace Christianity, though her efforts to convert her people did not succeed in her lifetime. The seeds of her faith bore fruit a generation later in the conversion of her grandson and the Christianization of Rus.
