St. Nilus the Younger
Italo-Greek abbot (910-1005), of Rossano in Calabria; founded the Italo-Greek monastic federation in southern Italy, finally settling at Grottaferrata near Rome (1004), still today a Greek-rite Basilian monastery in communion with Rome. Pre-Congregation.
