St. Mary Di Rosa
Italian foundress (1813-1855), of Brescia; founded the Handmaids of Charity (1840) for nursing the sick, especially during the cholera epidemics of the 1830s and the wounded of the wars of Italian unification. Canonized 1954 by Pius XII.
