St. Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas
Jerusalem-born Palestinian sister and co-foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary of Jerusalem, the first religious congregation founded for and by Arab Christian women in the Holy Land. She received visions of the Virgin Mary instructing her to found a community devoted to the Rosary and the education of young Arab girls. The congregation continues to operate schools throughout the Middle East.
