St. Marcian
Greek priest and economus of Constantinople (d. c. 471), oikonomos of Hagia Sophia under patriarch Gennadius; renowned builder and rebuilder of churches throughout Constantinople, distributing his inherited patrician fortune. Roman Martyrology lists him January 10.
