Irish abbot and bishop (1128-1180), Lorcán Ua Tuathail, of Leinster royal blood; abbot of Glendalough at 26, archbishop of Dublin from 1162. Mediated for Ireland with Henry II after the Norman invasion (1170) and died at Eu in Normandy on a mission to the king. First canonized Irish saint (1226 by Honorius III).
