St. Kevin
Irish abbot (c. 498-618), of Leinster royal blood; founded the great monastic city of Glendalough in the Wicklow mountains, said to have lived to 120. Tradition says he refused to crush a blackbird that nested in his outstretched praying hand, holding the position for weeks until the chicks fledged. Pre-Congregation.
