St. John of Sahagún
Spanish Augustinian Hermit (1419-1479), preacher and reformer at Salamanca renowned for peacemaking among the city's feuding noble factions. Said to have died of poison administered by a noblewoman whose lover he had counseled to repentance. Canonized 1690 by Alexander VIII.
