St. John of Matha
French priest and co-founder (1160-1213), Provençal nobleman who at his first Mass had a vision of Christ freeing two captives—one Christian, one Moor; with St. Felix of Valois founded the Order of the Most Holy Trinity (Trinitarians) in 1198 to ransom Christians from Muslim captivity. Equipollent canonization 1666 by Alexander VII.
