St. John of Cologne
Dutch-German Dominican priest (d. 1572), of Cologne, parish priest of Hoornaar in the Netherlands; one of the nineteen Martyrs of Gorkum hanged by Calvinist Sea Beggars at Brielle for refusing to deny the Real Presence and papal supremacy. Canonized 1867 by Pius IX.
