St. John of Beverley
Anglo-Saxon bishop (d. 721), of Whitby (under St. Hilda) and York from 705; ordained Bede priest and deacon. Bede records his miracles, including a healing of a deaf-mute at his hermitage near Beverley, where he retired and is buried. Pre-Congregation.
