St. John Macias
Spanish Dominican lay brother (1585-1645), shepherd from Extremadura who emigrated to Peru and entered the Dominicans at Lima as porter at the Magdalena friary. Companion in vocation of St. Martin de Porres; canonized 1975 by Paul VI.
