St. Joan Antida Thouret
French foundress (1765-1826), Sister of Charity formed under St. Vincent de Paul's heritage who, after expulsion in the Revolution, founded at Besançon in 1799 the Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida. Spread to Italy under Murat's patronage at Naples. Canonized 1934 by Pius XI.
