St. Isidore of Pelusium
Egyptian abbot and prolific letter-writer (c. 360-c. 449), monk and abbot at Pelusium near the eastern mouth of the Nile; some 2,000 of his short letters of spiritual and exegetical advice survive, addressed to bishops, monks, lay officials, and the emperor. Disciple of St. John Chrysostom in spirit. Pre-Congregation.
