St. Hugh of Grenoble
French bishop (1053-1132), consecrated bishop of Grenoble at 27 by Gregory VII to reform a corrupt diocese; in 1084 received St. Bruno and his six companions and granted them the Chartreuse wilderness for the foundation of the Carthusian Order. Canonized 1134 by Innocent II, two years after his death.
