St. Harlindis and St. Relindis
Frankish Benedictine sisters (7th-8th century, d. c. 745 and c. 750), daughters of a Frankish nobleman and pupils at the abbey of Valenciennes; founded and successively governed the double monastery of Maaseik in present-day Belgium. The richly illuminated 8th-century "Maaseik Gospels" are traditionally connected with their scriptorium. Pre-Congregation.
