St. Guy of Anderlecht
Flemish layman (c. 950-1012), poor sacristan and pilgrim of Anderlecht near Brussels; lost his small savings in a failed merchant venture, took it as a sign and made a seven-year pilgrimage to Rome and Jerusalem on foot before returning to die at Anderlecht. Patron of laborers, sacristans, and (because of legend) draft horses. Pre-Congregation.
