St. Gobnait
Irish virgin (6th century, dates uncertain), founded a community at Ballyvourney in County Cork at the urging of an angel who told her she would find "the place of her resurrection" where she saw nine white deer. Patron of beekeepers; her reputed bell and the holy well at Ballyvourney are objects of continuing local pilgrimage. Pre-Congregation.
