Roman actor and martyr (d. c. 286 or 303), legendary convert who while mocking Christian baptism on stage before Diocletian was struck by grace, confessed Christ in earnest, and was tortured and beheaded for refusing to apostatize. Patron of actors, comedians, and converts. Pre-Congregation; entirely legendary biography but cultus ancient.
