St. Emmeram
Frankish bishop and missionary (d. c. 652), traditionally a native of Poitiers; preached in Bavaria from a base at Regensburg under Duke Theodo. Tradition reports he was tortured to death after taking on the blame for the duke's daughter's pregnancy. Patron of Regensburg.
