St. Damian
Arabian-born physician of the 3rd century, brother of St. Cosmas; both practiced medicine without payment and were martyred at Cyrrhus in Syria under Diocletian c. 303. Named in the Roman Canon. Patron of physicians and pharmacists with his brother. Feast (with Cosmas) September 26.
