St. Dallan Forgaill
Irish bard and poet of the 6th century, blind for much of his life; composed the Amra Coluim Cille, the great elegy of St. Columba, regarded as one of the earliest poems in the Irish language. Killed by pirates c. 598. Feast January 29.
