St. Cyril of Alexandria
Greek patriarch of Alexandria (c. 376-444), Doctor of the Church; presided as papal legate over the Council of Ephesus in 431, which proclaimed the Blessed Virgin Mary "Theotokos" (God-bearer) and condemned Nestorianism. Feast June 27.
