St. Cyril, Apostle of the Slavs
Byzantine Greek brother of St. Methodius (c. 826-869); together they evangelized the Slavs of Moravia, devised the Glagolitic alphabet (forerunner of Cyrillic) to translate Scripture and the liturgy into Old Church Slavonic. Co-patrons of Europe. Feast February 14.
