St. Cosmas
Arabian-born physician of the 3rd century, brother of St. Damian; both practiced medicine without charging fees and were martyred at Cyrrhus in Syria under Diocletian c. 303. Named together in the Roman Canon. Patrons of physicians, surgeons, and pharmacists. Feast (with Damian) September 26.
