St. Clement I
Pope from c. 88 to 97, the third successor of St. Peter and one of the Apostolic Fathers; his First Letter to the Corinthians is the earliest authentic Christian writing outside the New Testament. Tradition holds that he was exiled to the Crimean mines and martyred there. Feast November 23.
