St. Christopher
Legendary martyr of the 3rd century whose name means "Christ-bearer," depicted carrying the Christ Child across a river; one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers and patron of travelers, his cult is ancient though the biographical details are largely legendary. Removed from the General Roman Calendar in 1969 but devotion remains widespread. Feast July 25.
