St. Caesarius of Arles
Frankish bishop of Arles (c. 470-542), foremost bishop of Gaul of his age; presided at the Council of Orange (529) which condemned semi-Pelagianism and decisively endorsed Augustine's teaching on grace. Author of a famous Rule for Nuns. Feast August 27.
