St. Arnulf of Metz
Frankish bishop of Metz (c. 582-640), counselor to King Dagobert I and ancestor of the Carolingian dynasty (great-great-grandfather of Charlemagne); retired to a hermitage at Remiremont. Patron of brewers and the city of Metz. Feast July 18.
