St. Albert Chmielowski
Polish artist who abandoned a successful painting career to become a Franciscan tertiary and live among the homeless of Krakow; founded the Albertines (Brothers and Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis Servants of the Poor) in 1888. Canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1989. Feast June 17.
