St. Alberic of Cîteaux
French Cistercian co-founder and second abbot of Cîteaux (c. 1050-1109); successor to St. Robert of Molesme and predecessor of St. Stephen Harding, he obtained the Roman Privilege from Pope Paschal II that secured the new order's independence. With Robert and Stephen, one of the three founders of the Cistercian Order. Feast January 26.
