St. Aebbe the Elder
Northumbrian princess (c. 615-683), daughter of King Æthelfrith and sister of King Oswald; founded the double monastery of Coldingham on the Berwickshire coast and served as its first abbess. Friend of St. Cuthbert. Feast August 25.
