St. Adalbero of Würzburg
German bishop of Würzburg from 1045 to 1090, noted for monastic reform and his loyalty to Pope Gregory VII during the Investiture Controversy; died in exile at Lambach Abbey, which he had founded. Beatified by Pope Pius IX. Feast October 6.
